Wanted: Adamawa REC Yunusa Ari declared missing

Barrister Yunusa Ari, the Resident Electoral Commissioner who declared Aisha Binani, the governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress winner of the governorship election has been declared missing.

Following the controversial declaration of governorship election winner in Adamawa by Ari, he as since allege to be on the run.

The National Commissioner in charge of Voter Education, Festus Okoye stated that Ari is missing during a program on Channels Television.

Since the controversial declaration of winner and the decision by the head office (INEC), the REC has not been seen by anyone, Okoye said.

It was alleged that Ari didn’t go to office, and calls placed to his phone were not answered nor returned.

Okoye said that the commission wrote him and called, but he failed to answer any.

“He never returned any of the calls, he never answered any of the calls.

“We asked him to report to the Commission on Sunday, we didn’t see him, we asked him to report on Monday, we didn’t see him. So up till moment, he has not reported and we don’t know where he is” he stated.

Recall, Congress News reported that the Adamawa state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Yunusa Ari, was summoned to Abuja by INEC following his declaration of election winner without the permission of the state Returning officer.

However, Ari has been declared wanted by the Commission and asked the Inspector General of Police to arrest him.
