JUST IN: Mulade Obtains PhD as Son Earns MSc

The Founder of the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ) and newly elected National Treasurer of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Relations by Delta State University, Abraka.
It was gathered his 24-year-old son, David Sheriff Mulade, also received a Master of Science (MSc) in Mass Communication from the same university.
The father and son were both recognized at Delta State University’s 18th Convocation Ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session, which took place on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Following the event, David Sheriff Mulade, a journalist, expressed profound gratitude to his father for his mentorship and motivation.
“I’m thankful to my father for his unwavering support and leadership. This accomplishment builds on the groundwork he has set, and it will greatly boost my professional journey in journalism and media,” he stated.
The double feat has been hailed as a proud moment that highlights a firm dedication to education, leadership, and self-development. It is regarded as a rare and historic first for Gbaramatu Kingdom, serving as an inspiring example of commitment, excellence, and a shared love for learning.
Chief Mulade is well recognized for his work in environmental justice, peacebuilding, and development across the Niger Delta. This academic success further affirms his commitment to knowledge and public service.
