Birthday: Dr Okoh Receives Merit Award, Appointed As Patron Of Delta Youth Coalition

Renowned Deltan, Engr Dr Ifeanyi Eddy Okoh, MNSE, COREN, SPE, FIMC has bagged another meritorious award from the Coalition of Delta Indigenous Youth Leaders Forum an apex body that directs all Communities, Kingdoms and Ethnic Nationalities Youths in Delta State.


The body also appointed him as a patron to the youth leadership organ of the state as he marked his birthday anniversary on Saturday.

Congress gathered that the two events were to commemorate his service to humanity and to further strengthen him to do more for the human race.



According to a statement signed by the Chairman of the youth apex body, Comr Gometi Crested said Okoh deserved more awards and recognitions following his immense contributions to the society, especially for the development of youths in Delta State.



He said, “Engr Dr Ifeanyi Eddy Okoh is a native of Abavo Community in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State.

“He is a Registered and Practicing Petroleum Engineer by Profession.

“A well-respected Nigerian who has made major contributions to the general public, especially the youths of Delta State. He’s the current chairman of the
Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Warri Nigeria Section.

“He has invested hugely in human development programmes with the quest to positively impact, educate, and reorient the teeming youths and members of the general public towards achieving a crime-free and stable economic society.

“Among other numerous empowerment programmes, he has over the years constantly sponsored 2 radio programmes in Delta Radio Station, Warri which includes ‘Let’s Talk about the Youths,’ held every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6 pm, and ‘Straight from the Heart,’ every Thursday from 9 to 9:30 am, which bordered on issues that affect the general public in the areas of Moral and Social-economic Wellbeing of Deltans and Nigerians at large.

“The Coalition of Delta Indigenous Youth Leaders Forum an apex youth body aimed at Promoting Peace, Unity, Security, Economic stability and all-round growth & development in Delta State therefore finds him worthy to play the role of Father/Patron to the Youths considering his strategic role in the efforts to build a better society and united Nation,” the statement urged.

The statement further reads, “We have leant to take politics, ethnicities and Religious sentiment from the leadership of youths activities and objectively search for individuals of noble characters that have demonstrated capacity, commitment and constant positive track over the years to stand in as father/patron to us.

“As a nonviolent and non-political organization, we are determined to mobilize the youth of Delta State from Ethnic Nationalities and kingdoms, down to every Community across the 3 Senatorial districts in Delta State to take deliberate steps towards curbing crime, whereby promoting a friendly and conducive environment for Deltans to live in and also to attract investors from all over the world to the state,” the group added.
