Elites Group Urges Deltans To Accept Oborevwori As Declared Governor-Elect By INEC

•Says Deltans should support Oborevwori for good governance

Foremost political pressure group under the umbrella of Elites For Good Governance,EFGG, has called on Deltans to support Delta state governor elect, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as being declared by the Independent National Electoral commission, INEC.

In a statement by the National leader of Elites For Good Governance, Mr Ogie Samson said the people of Delta State should refrain from things that would hinder the concentration of the incoming governor Rt.Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as the governor of Delta State.

According to him, the call became necessary since the 2023 election was fully observed and adhered to in compliance with the 2022 electoral act.

He emphasized that the Governor-elect would deliver on infrastructure and human capacity development to the satisfaction of the people of the state, adding: “Oborevwori lives in Delta State. The state is his place of residence and so the need to observe and work for good governance was a priority to him.

“The Elites For Good Governance conducted a lot of research on all the gubernatorial candidates before the elections and voting Oborevwori was a right choice for Deltans”, he averred.

Also, the National Youth leader, Mr Henry Ugboriata alias Oghene expressed satisfaction for the peaceful conduct of the election in Delta State.

One of the members of the Elites For Good Governance in Warri, Mr Peter Ominikoro alias Commander Big Fish, advised opposition parties and their supporters to accept the emergence of Oborevwori as the incoming Governor of the state and worked with him.

He reminded them that election is not a game of death but an exercise of moving a state or nation forward. He stressed the need for them to join the winner Oborevwori to move the state to a better level.

Deacon Christian Ebietomere Walter, who is a member of the group, congratulated Oborevwori and advised those who could not win the 2023 gubernatorial Delta State election to accept defeat and think of a better way forward.

He urged opposition political leaders to prevail on their followers to desist from charting any course that would lead to political crises in the state.

The National President Elites For Good Governance, who is also the National Secretary of Niger Delta Youth Observers, Mr Ogie Samson appealed to those who did not win to put heads together with the winner, Oborevwori to move the state forward and stop seeing the ruling party members as enemies.

“Life is too short, don’t let us to deviate from truth because God controls the affairs of men and it is God who made leaders. God makes Sheriff Oborevwori to win. Oborevwori is a Godly person who put God first before carrying out action and I also believe he will work with opposition party faithfuls if opposition party faithfuls will understand what politics is”, he added.

The National President Elites For Good Governance thanked Chief Bashorun Askia Ogieh and other PDP faithfuls for their level of politics in the state, adding: “Because by observations of Elites For Good Governance, Chief Bashorun Askia used high level of diplomacy in his strategic ways for which violence was never part of him because he is a good thinker. We also appreciate Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the level of security measure he put in the state to avoid political violence”.
