The Nigeria Youth Movement for Good Governance (NYMGG) has joined forces with Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro PhD to appeal to Niger Delta and Nigerian youths to suspend the planned August 1st protest.

In a statement signed by Comrade Newman Asiyesemor Dogood, Secretary, and Comrade Saturday David, PRO, the movement urged youths to give the President Tinubu-led administration more time to address their grievances.

The NYMGG emphasised that the protest, although well-intentioned, may be hijacked by external forces with ulterior motives, leading to violence and instability. They admonished youths to explore alternative channels for engaging with the government and promoting positive change.

According the group, the protest has been hijacked and that it would be of a fruitless exercise even if youths embarked on it.

They urged the Nigerian government to make quick moves to address the numerous economic challenges the citizens are passing through to avert further revolutionary protests in the country.

Meanwhile, Dr. Otuaro, Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, had earlier appealed to ex-agitators and youths not to participate in the protest, citing concerns about potential hijack and destabilization.
