Not less than one thousand Nigerian students have begged the Federal government of Nigeria to help evacuate them from Sudan as the conflict escalates.

Following the ongoing war between Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces, over 320 lives had been killed and over 3000 people injured, Nigerian students numbering over 1200 had begged the Federal government to come to their rescue.

Adam Mohammed, the Secretary of National Association of Nigeria Students lamented that many students had run out of food stuffs following the military and civilian war.

According to report, thousands of citizens had been rendered homeless while foreign nations like Uganda, Tanzania and Japan had begun to evacuate their national from Sudan.

Before war began between Sudanese Armed Forces and the RSF paramilitary group, it was reported that the two were allies.

It was gathered that war began between Sudanese army and RSF as a result of failed negotiation over integrating the two forces ahead of the intended restoration of civilian rule.

The disagreement was about which general would subordinate to the other and how fast RSF would be incorporated into the Sudanese military.

On April 8, war broke out between the two forces with the cities of Khartoum and Obdurman as the battlefield.

However, National Association of Nigeria Students, National secretary had pleaded to the Federal government to help evacuate Nigeria students in Sudan as they are short of food, and there are electricity outages including telecommunications blackouts.
