The first phase leaders and stakeholders during a stakeholders Engagement and Brainstorming meeting held in Warri , Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Matters and Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro (PhD.) for taking critical steps to advance and improve the amnesty programme.
The leaders and stakeholders in voice vote passed the vote of confidence following a motion by Prince Emeka Igwe, a First Phase Coordinator from Imo State and was seconded by Chief Pastor Ruben Wilson, the former Chairman of the Phase-1 Amnesty Leaders Forum.
However, the leaders highlighted the significant strides made under Otuaro’s leadership, emphasising his commitment to addressing the concerns of the Niger Delta communities and ex-agitators, and ensuring the smooth implementation of the amnesty programme. They noted that Otuaro’s strategic direction and hands-on approach will no doubt lead to tangible improvements in the region’s stability and development.
It would be recalled that the Stakeholders Engagement and Brainstorming Session were designed to foster dialogue and generate innovative solutions for the ongoing challenges in the Niger Delta Amnesty Programme.
The dialogue will continue over the next four days, with various stakeholders billed to participate in discussions aimed at building permanent peace and progress in the area.
