Niger Delta Buckingham Palace, NDBP has faulted the purported Coalition of Civil Society Organisations, calling on Mr. President to revisit the appointment of Chief (Dr.) Dennis Otuaro as the substantive Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP). Their alleged reason was that Dr. Otuaro is impassive so far and that one unknown person was already cleared for the job by security agencies.

According to a press statement issued and signed by the Niger Delta Buckingham Palace by Mr Bekes Apere President and Mr Brown Ogei, Secretary said: “Ordinarily, the unholy group does not deserve our response. However, in order to prevent the said naysayers from further misleading the unsuspecting public, we wish to put the records straight.

“Firstly, the appointment of Dr. Dennis Otuaro was greeted with unprecedented approval by all the relevant groups and stakeholders in the Niger Delta region and beyond.

“Secondly, Dr. Otuaro is a bonafide product of the AGITATIONS for a better deal for the people of the Niger Delta. In fact, since after Dr. Kingsley Kuku, this is the only time a real stakeholder was appointed to hold that critical office.

“Thirdly, Dr. Otuaro is eminently qualified by all academic standards and social experiences.

“Fourthly, before the appointment of Dr. Otuaro, he was thoroughly vetted by all the appropriate agencies of government and came out unblemished.

Meanwhile, the President of NDBP stayed that, it was grossly out of place for any person who really meant well for Ijaw Nation in particular and the people of the Niger Delta in general to even though of going against the choice of Dr. Otuaro as the substantive boss of the Presidential Amnesty Program. “To say the least, complaining about his performance within two months of assumption of office is arrant absurdity. It only portrays the hollowness of the said group.

“It’s President also maintained that, from the spurious presentations by the purported Coalition, it is clearly discernible that the promoters of the group are on a self-serving mission. They are mere rabble-rousers and attention-seekers.

“Consequent upon the foregoing, we urge our brand new PAP boss and the general public to ignore their rantings. The major stakeholders and the vast majority of the people of the Niger Delta have absolute confidence in Dr. Dennis Otuaro’s capacity as PAP’s new boss.

“We further appeal to the said group and its ilk to rather key into the purpose-driven and people-oriented leadership of Dr. Otuaro. No one or group of persons can stop a man whose time has come”, he added.
