Group laments continuous kidnappings of female students Calls for Action

The President of Northern Consensus Movement, Dr, Awwal Aliyu Abdullahi, expressed concerns over the continued kidnappings of Female students in the country, calling on all hands to be on deck towards ensuring bringing an end to the lingering problems affecting the education of Females, especially in Northern Nigeria.

Dr Awwal Aliyu maintain that there is a need to adopt a new strategy that will involve all players in the security sector, by involving stakeholders at the grassroots, bringing everyone together towards the formation of security architecture from the ward level up to the National level

Dr Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu made the call at a Press conference in Kaduna.

He stresses the need for community security architecture, where all stakeholders are involved and give diverse personnel the necessary information that could lead to the investigation and arrest of criminals and criminality in the country.

Dr Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu stressed the need for the constitution of a community intelligence and intervention committee at the grassroots level that involves religious, youths, women, retired security personnel and opinion leaders that would checkmate the menace.

The President of the movement observed that poverty, hunger and unemployment were some of the major factors responsible for the problem, and called for a holistic approach for lasting solutions to the menace.

He lamented On the recent abduction of female students at Federal University Gusau, and Federal University, Dutsinma, Dr Aliyu called on elders and leaders of Northern extraction to ensure that girl child education in the region receives adequate attention.

He therefore called on critical stakeholders in Northern Nigeria to rise against heightened security challenges in the region.
