PAP: Otuaro meets phase 2 delegates, promises more opportunities

The administrator of the presidential Amnesty programme, Dr Dennis Otuaro met with the phase 2 delegates of the presidential Amnesty programme
in continuation of the five days stakeholders meeting on Saturday 22nd June, 2024.
The stakeholders meeting commenced at about 11: am , following the singing of the national anthem, opening prayer, exchange of pleasantries and introduction of members of the high table and delegates and other critical stakeholders.
The presidential administrator Dr Dennis Otuaro emphasised the need to deepen the amnesty programme to benefit delegates and other critical stakeholders beyond the N65,000 stipends.
He admonished beneficiaries to join hands with him to create more opportunities for them.
His words, “Today we are here for a brotherly discussion. Since my inception of office, I see a need for a stakeholders dialogue to deepen the effectiveness of the amnesty programme. We have over 30 thousand plus beneficiaries in the programme. I’m here to create opportunities for our delegates and other critical stakeholders. I’m here to dialogue with you to know your challenges so I could solve them. We must make use of these opportunities to better ourselves beyond the N65,000.
“I want us to look beyond the N65,000 stipend.Some were trained but no empowerment. I’m aware of all these challenges. I want us to brainstorm and dialogue as brothers to deepen the programme. Under my leadership we must deepen this programme. We can do it if we can speak in one voice.
“The president meant well for Niger Delta. I have the ears of the president. He wants our development and well-being. I want a peaceful deliberation today. I am aware of the challenges in the presidential Amnesty programme Corporative Loan Scheme, PACOSOL. I want this empowerment programme to be effective. By God’s grace, I will invest in it to benefit all stakeholders of the programme”, he maintained.
Also speaking, the head of the peace building and conflict management, Chief Adam Marbo appealed to phase two amnesty leaders to cooperate with Dr Dennis Otuaro to advance the amnesty programme.
While addressing the delegates and stakeholders, he added, “l want a peaceful dialogue. We need to jointly support the new leadership of the presidential Amnesty programme to benefit us and to address all our concerns. The meeting today is to interface and dialogue for the way forward. I welcome you all to this stakeholders dialogue, thank you and God bless ” he added.
