Gunmen assassinate groom, son in Udu

Tension heightened in Udu, Udu Local Government Area of Delta state on Thursday as suspected gunmen assassinated groom and his little son.

The incident occurred in old Ekete road, opposite Ghawan junction on Thursday 17th March, 2022 when suspected gunmen invaded the abhor and shot the groom and his little son to death at about 6pm in the evening.

The deceased was said to have concluded his traditional marriage today (Thursday 17th) when he was shot dead in his residential area.

It was learnt the incident forced traders, shop owners and residents to flee the area for fear of reprisal attack by the assassins.

However, the incident has been reported to the Ovwian police division for further investigation. The corpses had been deposited in an undisclosed morgue in Udu town.
