JUST IN: Major pipeline goes up in flames in Rivers

By Osaro Michael, Benin
Tension continued to develop Niger Delta as explosion has hits the Trans-Niger Pipeline at Bodo in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Congress gathered that the impacted section of the major pipeline is currently engulfed in flames, though the exact cause of the blast is yet to be known.
However, authorities were still investigating whether the incident was due to human interference, particularly in light of recent threats from militant groups to target oil infrastructure in response to the Federal Government’s decision to withhold Rivers State’s allocation amid the ongoing political crisis.
It was learnt that the explosion took place on Monday night along the vital export pipeline, which transports crude oil to the Bonny Terminal.
