The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu urged all well meaning Nigerians that are not satisfied with his administration should explore the option of voting him out in the 2027 presidential election.

The monarch, stressed that President Tinubu said this on Thursday when he held an emergency meeting with Traditional Rulers headed by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III amid looming hardship protests planned for August 1-10, 2024.

Meanwhile, Ooni of Ife also noted that Mr President is calling for dialogue with aggrieved leaders while reiterating his plans to resolve the country’s economic hardship.

“The President has said, ‘Any leader that you don’t like, wait (until 2027) and vote him out.’ He is open to dialogue. We know that Nigeria is bedeviled with many challenges. But are we going to destroy the nation by ourselves? Is that what we are all after?

“It is very difficult to build, but it is easy to destroy. We are all stakeholders in this country, we are stronger and better when we are united. Nigeria’s economy is on the path of recovery and assurance of better days.

This comes amid the increasing dissatisfaction among Nigerians on the state of the economy as core items and food inflation stood at 34.19 percent and 40.87 percent, respectively.
