Not less than seventy (70) filling stations have been sealed in Osun state by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, for operating without a valid license.

This is according to a statement by Mr Kunle Adeyemo the NMDPRA state coordinator.

He affirmed that the fuel stations were sealed during operation by the agency, adding that 301 stations were visited across the state

It was reported that many stations in the state were operating without license and in line with the Federal Government of Nigeria, the sealed fuel stations have May 31 to receive their valid license.

Mr Adeyemo asserted that any petroleum markers who didn’t comply with the deadline would be penalized.

He added that many fuel marketers have turned their filling stations into car washes and parking spaces.

The state coordinator maintained that many marketers operated without safety facilities, engaging in pump adjustment, and using unqualified attendance.
