Gov. Emmanuel Commissions Chief Judge Residence

Governor Udom Emmanuel says the official residence of the Chief Judge is a fulfillment of his promise to that arm of government.

The governor while speaking in Uyo where he stopped to commission the residence before proceeding to hand over to his successor.

Emmanuel noted that giving the State Chief Judge a purpose built residence was to enhance the functioning of the judiciary.

He assured that the building is equipped with contemporary technology and infrastructure to allow the Chief Judge to work remotely and virtually perform her duties efficiently.

The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaette Obot, who described governor Emmanuel as the most performing governor in the country, said the residence was coming barely a year after the governor made the promise at her request.

The Chief Judge said the governor had done very well for the Akwa Ibom State judiciary and made her job easy.

She thanked the governor for the residence and all other supports he had accorded the Akwa Ibom State judiciary.

Giving an overview of the project, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Dr Bassey Okon, said the project is a duplex, situated on a land mass of 10,919.635 sqm, furnished with a banquet hall, swimming pool, lounge, charlet, Generator House or technical building and a security post.

The chairman of Uyo Local Government, Dr Uwemedimo Udo was on hand to welcome the delegation.

He thanked Governor Emmanuel for situating another legacy in Uyo.
